All great projects start with good ideas. Going from good ideas to great finished products takes vision. In order for our customers to be able to envision what they want, the RailPlan Industrial Design Team prepares sketches, color and material boards, realistic images, scale models of the final product. Whether it is a single part, or a complete vehicle, the customer will know exactly what they are getting before it’s ever built.

After the concept has been developed it’s time to confirm that the idea works in 3 dimensions and at full scale. We’ve found that even simple mock-ups made from simple materials can be invaluable in determining if things will work. They are easy to change and develop and the cost is very low. Anything that passengers or maintenance personnel come in contact with needs to be studied.
After the simple mock-ups are accepted, RailPlan can create full size full finish mock-ups. We have a very large facility dedicated to the construction of very large, full scale mock-ups of vehicles. These final finish mock-ups utilize production parts to the greatest extent practical and allow the customer to approve of systems and sub-systems long before the actual vehicle can be constructed.
