Company History
RailPlan International, Inc. (formally EDA Inc.) was formed in 1986 and began work immediately with Amtrak
on the Ontario Northland Uni-Level Conversion engineering program.
- 1986 - The original business (EDA)Incorporated was formed in Silver Spring, Maryland.
- 1991 - RailPlan (as EDA) designed and manufactured the first ADA compliant toilet room modules for Metro North Railroad (M-6).
- 1995 - RailPlan (as EDA) designed and manufactured the first ADA compliant toilet room modules for Amtrak.
- 1995 - EDA is sold to ICF Kaiser International (wholly owned subsidiary).
- 1998 - Three of the original partner reacquired the EDA from ICF Kaiser and create a new entity known as RailPlan International, Inc.
- 2001 - RailPlan relocated its current headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Baltimore, Maryland.
- 2005 - RailPlan Mechanical Services Group is created.
- 2010 - VRE/Keolis Mechanical Service Contract.
- 2011 - MARC Martins and Frederick Facility Mechanical Contract.
Company Facilities
Located in Baltimore, Maryland, RailPlan currently has 10,000 square feet of office area and 40,000 square feet of production area. The facility is organized to handle multiple design/build programs and support mock-up and prototype development.
