In cooperation with Virginia Railway Express (VRE) and Kawasaki Rail Car, RailPlan has executed an option order for bi-level vehicles from a third-party contract.  The VRE bi-level vehicles feature upgraded seating and restyled interiors.  Additionally, an automated trap door has been added to allow passengers to efficiently detrain onto low-level platforms without requiring direct assistance from a train conductor.  All parties involved are pleased with the project outcome as it continues to be on schedule, within budget, and is producing a high-quality product.
