RailPlan‘s Rail Services Department encompasses maintenance and repair for all types of passenger equipment. Our QMP’s (Qualified Mechanical Person) as required by CFR 49 section 238, are trained and certified in all disciplines:     

   º Locomotive departure test

   º Train air brake tests

   º Daily inspections

   º Periodic Maintenance Inspections

   º Single car test

We perform the four (4) year COT&S for car equipment, including, if desired, material handling. RailPlan also provides warehouse/ materials management services.

Complete car and locomotive upgrades or modifications are within our abilities. RailPlan provides one stop shopping for these services, engineering, design, material procurement and installation. These activities include but not limited to:

  º Oversite on truck rehabilitation

  º Wheel change out at owner facility/track

  º Coupler/draft gear replacement

  º Locomotive event recorder installation

  º Passenger car toilet module installation

  º EPA certified for air conditioning/heating

Our Rail Services document department provides MAP (Maintenance Analysis Program) systems to certify and document FRA required periodic inspections and equipment modifications. RailPlan‘s Rail Services department has provided these and many other services to several commuter agencies, including Maryland “MARC” service, Virginia Rail Express, and Seattle  “Sounder”  service.
